Pupils with the educator find out what a fort and a fortress are, and also learn that the whole city of Kaunas was turned into a fortress city in the Russian Empire. After discussing what fortifications were made of, participants work in groups to construct nine coloured forts and place them on a map. The educational activity involves teaching history, understanding maps and developing creativity.
