This tour will give you an in-depth insight into the division of Kaunas Hard Labour Prison that operated in the Ninth Fort during the interwar period in Lithuania. Participants learn about the reconstruction of the Ninth Fort in order to adapt the defensive fortifications to the needs of the prison, visit the prisoners’ meeting room, the courtyards of the former prison, the cells and the barracks and get acquainted with the life and work conditions of the prisoners who were imprisoned in the Ninth Fort.
